Kaboodle Shows Commitment to Training by Joining The 5% Club
Training the future workforce is extremely important to us here at Kaboodle!
That is why we have joined more than 1,200 other UK business and signed up to The 5% Club.
The 5% Club is a dynamic movement of UK employers, like Kaboodle, who are committed to ‘earn & learn’ as part of building and developing the workforce they need as part of a socially mobile, prosperous and cohesive nation.
When you join The 5% Club you pledge to have a minimum of 5% of your workforce in ‘earn and learn’ positions within the next five years.
But to be honest, we are already there.
With nine apprentice installers, one business admin apprentice and 39 trainee installers, I think Kaboodles commitment to training the future workforce is pretty clear.
Our MD Matthew Pitt explains it well in a recent interview he did with kbbreview, where he talked about Kaboodle's Industry-first white goods apprenticeships...
Matt explained: “Any KBB business providing an installation service has got to take responsibility by offering apprenticeships and creating an environment that young people want to work in.
“I know that some of the smaller companies don’t want to invest money in training, only to lose the apprentice to a competitor when they’ve finished their apprenticeship.
“I kind of get that, but it’s a very short-sighted view because, if everybody takes on apprentices, everybody wins – regardless of if you lose your apprentice to a competitor, because you’ll find it a lot easier to recruit a qualified installer later because the industry is collectively putting more installers into the workplace.”
